For my remediation project, I wanted to utilize a medium that I had not previously used for any class project. I decided to make a trailer for The Choice, which I imagined had gone from a highly acclaimed short story to Hollywood blockbuster. The initial trailer was frankly comical to watch (I never said I was Martin Scorsese), so with the help of my Writing 220 peers, I shot and edited a new trailer. The final project is my take at an amateur fan film trailer. Most fan trailers use clips from various, arbitrary films, as well as original footage the fans shoot. He or she then edits the clips in an order that, when finished, reflects the story of the film. I took this route to create my original trailer for The Choice.

Premise:

In the well-to-do town of Henderson, Nevada, money is power. Without it, you can say goodbye to your social life, connections, and any hope of getting into an Ivy League school. So when un-foreseen events suddenly leave Rachel with no money to maintain her lavish and well-connected lifestyle, she must find a way to get it back. Socially exiled from the priviliged circle in which she used to run, Rachel finds herself seeking help from no-good Adam Kischer, whose mysterious past and shady drug-dealing business cause concern for her best friend Alex. Will Rachel listen to her trusted friend, or will the excitement of a great deal - and an even better trip - lure her into the dangers of a new life?
